Merging Veterans and Inner-City Youth to be Leaders for Environmental Justice

1926 N Kilpatrick St, Suite B, Portland, OR 97217

Our Mission

We connect inner city youth and US military veterans to the outdoors through incredible outdoor educational transformation experiences. By engaging U.S veterans as mentors for inner city youth, we believe that rich, powerful opportunities of healing authentically happen in the midst of Mother Nature. We believe that by connecting youth and veterans to our public lands, wild rivers and fresh waters, and beyond through genuine community, we will ultimately establish and inspire a new generation of outdoor leader ambassadors that will advocate for Mother Nature and conservation.

Deployment \-mənt\ noun

Activities encompassed from one origin or home to another place of destination, specifically to wild places with wildlife habitat, and to connect underserved communities to outdoor exploration, education and leadership.

SRI FIELD NEWS

Front lines Investigation of Environmental Landscapes from a Diverse perspective

Reporting back to the Community!

COVERING WILLAMETTE RIVER

SRI FIELD News is to provide meaningful perspective from the next generation for future generations. With reporting done by SRI youth leaders while in the field on a deployment, our environmental concerns and issues are brought to a more substantial light in hopes that more demographics find it imperative to take immediate personal action. Deployments take place on
public lands, wildlife refuges, and sacred Indian nation territory - all which hunger for a need to be advocated and supported for protection.
